a Gray House - Custom Accessories: Recon Holster

Wow. We have a HUGE submission from a Gray House, who sent us information and photos of his custom Nerf accessories. The email was so long, we decided to spare you a long post and give each accessory its own post! If the top image doesn't tell you already, these custom made accessories are sharp looking, so read past the jump for a better look at it!

First up is his Recon CS-6 holster, which holds the Recon (with no accessories attached) and also features an integrated ten dart holder. It looks like a snug fit for both the blaster and the darts; nothing's going to go flying when he starts running!

Here's what he has to say about his Recon holster:
The holster in place. Also, I spy a Vault
Boy in the background...

2nd overall crafting effort.  Conceived after a functional but flimsy and just plain unsatisfactory attempt at a Maverick holster suggested to me that sturdiness might be an appropriate hallmark.  Thick, custom cut cardboard plates skinned in vinyl with hot glue.  Plates stitched together with twine and heavy gauge needle.  Belt loop structure also made with stiff cardboard as a base, built to keep the holster stable in the face of leg movement.  Integrated dart storage stitched from nylon strapping.
Be expecting the other accessories soon!

Check out a Gray's House's blog, The Document for his other work.

  1. That is so awesome! Holsters are some of the coolest things ever. Great job on it.

  2. I like it, but....why are there whistlers with a recon?

  3. That's awesome. The only problem is the dart storage. It is too low to be easily accessible in battle and not to mention that both whistler darts and single loading are useless to a Recon. And I don't like Recons ;)

I want to see if it'll work with the Elite Retaliator. Sure looks the same to me...
